Born in East Berlin, Andrea Bruns found freedom in photography at the age of 13.
In a world of political constraint, the camera became her sanctuary — a space where light could overcome silence.
After escaping East Germany in 1980, Andrea began a new life of creative exploration. In 1993, she moved to Canada, where the vast Pacific horizons and quiet mountain ranges rekindled her artistic voice.
What began as a refuge has evolved into a lifelong pursuit: capturing the stillness, emotion, and light that exist between sky and sea.
Now based in Vancouver, Canada, Andrea Bruns creates limited-edition fine art photography that transforms natural moments into contemplative experiences.
Her collections — Horizon, Abstract Seascapes, Pacific Northwest Landscapes, and Hawaii Aerials — explore the relationship between silence and motion, simplicity and depth.
Each piece invites reflection — an invitation to pause, breathe, and rediscover stillness through art.
“Photography allows me to paint with light — to express emotion in its most quiet form.”
