About the Photograph
Photographed beneath a dense woodland canopy in Langley, British Columbia, Canopy Light developed from shifting intervals of light between the trees. Vertical camera movement reduces detail while preserving the forest’s underlying structure, transforming the scene into rhythm, softened colour, and diffused light.
Within the Sylvan series, the work reflects an ongoing exploration of how the experience of the forest can be distilled into form and atmosphere rather than described literally.
